Comparison The Thief Of Joy

We have a natural propensity to compare ourselves with others, our consumerist culture encourages us in this. Does this comparison-driven culture affect our churches?

In this message Pastor Charles Fleming looks at how the people who had seen Solomon’s temple compared its glory to the new temple that the Jews returning from exile built when they came back to Jerusalem. This comparison led to them mourning instead of celebrating what God had done through those who had been faithful to His purposes.

Are we, as Christians today in danger of being tempted to compare our Churches, and what goes on there to things that we have seen or listened to online or elsewhere, so that we potentially render ourselves of little positive value to the church that we are part of, or the overall purpose of God?
