On Thursday 8th September 2022, Queen Elizabeth II went to be with her God and saviour the Lord Jesus Christ, after reigning on the British throne for 70 years, she was 96 years of age.
The United Kingdom & the Commonwealth will greatly miss her. Her reign was one of self sacrifice and service focused on the well being of the people of the United Kingdom & the unity of the Commonwealth.
As a youngster I was among those who represented my school when she came to visit my hometown in the West Midlands. I remember being frozen to the spot as she approached us, she seemed to look straight at me! She had great presence and authority; it was a memorable moment.
As an adult I became aware of her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord & Saviour, which she made clear to the nation, this has been an encouragement and inspiration to me, as well as the church in the United Kingdom. It is clear that her Christian values were the foundation of all that she did in serving the United Kingdom.
She promised to serve us faithfully to her last breath as she believed that was what Jesus her Lord & Saviour required her to do, and this she did with his help and the support of her late husband, Prince Philip.
Let us pray for the Royal family, United Kingdom & the Commonwealth as we grieve our loss.
Finally let us pray for King Charles III for wisdom, authority and knowledge as he takes his place on the throne, a position that he has been preparing for all of his adult life.
We thank the Lord Jesus Christ for the life of Queen Elizabeth II and we pray for the Lord’s blessing on King Charles III and his Queen Consort Camilla.
