In this message, we look at two realities of the Christian life that can seem very different, yet are deeply connected: love and spiritual warfare.
Jesus calls us to a radical kind of love — to love our enemies, bless those who curse us, do good to those who hate us, and pray for those who mistreat us. This is not simply an emotional response; it is a choice to live according to the character and love of God.
But while we are called to love people, we are also called to stand firm in spiritual warfare.
Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6 that our struggle is not against flesh and blood. God has given us spiritual armour so that we can stand against the schemes of the enemy and remain firm in Christ.
In this message we explore:
❤️ LOVE
• Loving our enemies
• Blessing those who curse us
• Doing good to those who hate us
• Praying for those who mistreat us
• Showing mercy, just as our Father is merciful
• Loving others even when it costs us
⚔️ WAR
• The whole armour of God
• Standing firm
• The belt of truth
• The breastplate of righteousness
• Shoes of the Gospel of peace
• The shield of faith
• The helmet of salvation
• The sword of the Spirit
• Praying in the Spirit at all times
There is a battle, but people are not the enemy.
We are called to love people while standing against the spiritual forces that seek to oppose the purposes of God.
The armour of God enables us to stand firm, while the love of God enables us to respond to others in the way Jesus commanded.
May this message encourage you to love deeply, stand firmly, and remain faithful in the battle.
