Back in 2008 when the banking crash occurred as a church we prayed a declaration over our Church community, the amazing thing was that while others were losing their jobs, their incomes and suffering increasing financial cuts we, as a Church community experienced promotions, new and better jobs, as well as pay increases, enabling us to keep on giving and keep on blessing others. If ever there was a time to start praying this declaration again it’s now:
We declare that we are a people of Goshen, living in a time of famine but blessed by God. We commit ourselves to continue sowing in a time of famine, believing for a harvest. We will be faithful to give our time, our gifts and our finances. We declare our Church congregation a ‘recession-free zone’.
